Dunning is an American photographer whose main subject is the human body. She uses extreme close-ups, stand-ins, and unexpected angles and lighting to create mysterious images in which things are not often what they seem. Her images can seem uncanny or strangely sexualized, creating a sense of attraction and repulsion that comments on voyeurism and the objectification of the female body in particular.
