This work, featured in Iowa Artists 2021, was inspired by photos captured on walks using various features of the artist's cell phone camera. The shadow patterns were then rendered in watercolor and drawing, created over a grid-like background inspired by the cards used to make tapestry patterns. Valentine is a multimedia artist who incorporates photograph, painting, and textile processes in her work.
