Label Text This work is from August Sander's open-ended and ultimately incomplete photography project titled People of the Twentieth Century. His goal was to photograph a cross-section of German society and he divided the series into seven sections: The Farmer, The Skilled Tradesman, Woman, Classes and Professions, The Artists, The City, and The Last People (including the homeless and other disen-franchised people).
