Amy Cutler's lithograph entitled, Weavers, 2008, is one of a series of four prints she made at ULAE inspired by an earlier drawing titled Hair Mill (2007). Cutler's detailed drawings and prints are grounded in storytelling traditions that frequently depict fictional utopias made up of women who are strong and self-reliant. Like in this work, her women look lke they are from the past, thir dresses informed by different periods and cultures, and they are often engaged in strange tasks that could only exist in the realm of the imagination and be translated into art.
