This work typifies Rauschenberg's amalgamation of fragmented images creating a loose narrative and ambiguous space. The artist's process involves digitally printing selected photographs, then transferring the images to prepared paper with dye by rubbing the backs of the photographs with a squeegee. The resulting image appears fluid and painterly and totally unique.
