Label TextPhilip Pearlstein, a neo-Realist American painter prominent in the 1970s, painted nude models and studio scenes deliberately drained of sensuality. In this large color etching, one figure sits on a wooden swivel chair and another lies on a patterned carpet. The print's oblique point of view, dramatic recession into space, and cropping of one model's head and elbow, make this a distinctive Pearlstein image. Source: News, April May June 2014
