Label Text San Francisco Bay Area ceramic sculptor, Robert Arneson's large gestural drawing comes from the artist's series of monumental, up-close encounters with his own face. Arneson used oil stick and pastel as he would use malleable clay and glazes. In this drawing, skeins and splats of color dance across the voluminous frontal form. Above, a line of red bottles extends back into darkness. Source: News, April May June 2014
