Label Text Ran Hwang is a Korean artist curently working in New York. Her work combines elements of drawing, sculpture, and multi-installation, often creating images from large accumulations of tiny objects such as thread, buttons, or, in this case, crystal-headed pins. Imagery of decorative objects is a common theme, as are elements of traditional Asian crafts. Garden of Water is an installation that she has exhibited around the world in various versions, some including up to six repetitions of the central chandelier and an immersive video component.
