Timothy Wehrle's complex drawings captivate the viewer with their visual density and emotional intensity. Iowa-based and essentially self-taught, Wehrle uses an obsessive and laborious image-making process to reveal multifaceted and powerful visions. In his work, perspective and three-dimensionality lose out in favor of decoration and pattern, and color accentuates rhythm and design. Emotions, poetry, and human feelings are the primary subjects of his work.
