Label Text[Armitages's] figures are almost abstract using the flat slabs of cast bronze to represent the body and indicating heads, arms, and legs in a thoroughly abstrract and disproportionate manner. He attains an individual chiaroscuro through the juxtaposition of his flat planes which emphasizes the personal quality of his style. Source: Bulletin, August 1960.
