Label Text The Baule tribe inhabits the central and southeastern parts of the Ivory Coast. This example is somewhat abstract and reflects an older tradition apart from a more recent degree of realism. The pointed chin, large eyes, scarification and elaborate coiffure are traits often found in Baule representations of the human figure. Source: Bulletin, July-August 1974.
