Completed in 1890, this etching relates to a well-known oil which Renoir had painted several years earlier. The woman is this etching has been identified as Suzanne Valadon, a favorite artist's model of the time who became a painter in her own right. It is possible that the man is the Impressionist painter Alred Sisley.
