Sol LeWitt's art is a conceptual art in which the idea or conceptual form is more importat than the object itself. LeWitt began working as an artist in the mid-sixties and continued to work with a consistent gepometric, abstract vocabulary. He worked in series in which the manipulation of a fundamental geometric concept is thoroughly explored from start to final resolution. It was his intent to reduce art to its most elemental form.
