Isabel Bishop's main subject was the lives of working class women in New York City. Different from most of her work--which shows the women outside engaged in the bustle of the city--Nude No. 2, shows a very intimate, private moment. The viewer is almost embarrassed to be "spying." This image shows the various contortions the body sometimes goes through in order to complete even the most ordinary tasks.
