Label Text Bomar was a leader of the “Fort Worth Circle,” a group of pioneering Texas artists active between the early 1940s and 1955. Initially a social circle, the group quickly transformed into a vibrant collective of bohemian artists that included women and out gay men. In contrast to the rural and solemn subject matter that dominated Texas art of the time, Fort Worth Circle artists embraced experimentation, developing a unique aesthetic rooted in abstraction and dreamlike imagery.
