Label Text Spero has long been an advocate of feminist issues, and is one of the first and most highly regarded feminist artists. As in Goddess II, Spero often depicts goddess images. However, these are not contemporary goddess images based on beauty and celebrity only, but historical goddess images from prehistorical, Greek and Egyptian cultures in which goddesses were women of power, strength, wisdom and ability.
