Label Text The composition of this print is derived from Golub's "Gigantomachy" series of paintings from the 1960s, inspired by classical statuary fragments depicting the struggles of the gods and giants. Also a response to the Viet Nam conflict, Golub's paintings and prints have continued to explore the interactions between figures and the timeless concerns of the philosophers, what is Man, what is his role, what are his responsibilities.
