Label Text The paintbrush-filled Savarin can is among Jasper John's most famous and frequently used images. He first used the can for a sculpture in 1960. Since then he used the Savarin can in lithographs, photoengravings, on a poster and a book jacket, and featured it as the subject of monotypes. The Savarin, however, has never been the subject of a painting. Source: Bulletin/News, November-December, 1986.
