The complete text "La partenza dell' argonauta" of Alberto Savinio written in 1917, translated into English for this publication in 1986 by George Scrivani. The book includes five chapters and an original epilogue, 50 double page spreads of text interwoven with lithographs, 34 in color, 16 in black. The text in printed letterpress in Bembo type on Okawara mold made Kozo paper. Each spread loose and folded, measures 65 x 50 cm, 26 x 20". Edition 44/50, signed by artist in the colophon. Born in Naples, Italy, in 1952, Clemente received his early education through extensive traveling, classical literature and philosophy. Clemente became active as an artist very early, publishing a group of poems at the age of 12. In 1970, when Clemente was 18, he entered the university of Rome and studied architecture for one year. His first paintings were shown at the Galerie Gian Enzo Sperone in Rome in 1975. He is linked with the European and American artists called Neo-Expressionists. He splits his time between New York, Italy, and India.
