Label Text Three Way Piece No. 1: Points is a 50th anniversary gift to the Art Center from the Principal Financial Group. The work is one of only three castings. To emphasize the three-dimensional nature of sculpture Moore began to use small maquettes instead of preparatory drawings. The title stems from Moore's stated desire "to make a new kind of sculpture, less dependent on gravity, which could be seen in a least three positions aand be effective in all of them."
