Label Text Though not a member of the short-lived movement which called itself the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Burne-Jones espoused many of the group's ideals and echoed their thinking in his works: literary or medieval themes, admiration for such Italian painters as Mantegna and Botticelli, elaborate detail, richly colored paintings, and sentimentality. Burne-Jones also worked closely with William Morris, the English designer and craftsman and he executed numerous designs for stained glass, tapestries, and illustrations.
