Label Text In the span of her short career, Eva Hesse made about 70 sculptures and drawings. Prior to her death in 1970 at age 34, Hesse attended Cooper Union in New York and Yale School of Art and Architecture. In 1964 Hesse began experimenting with sculpture, using raw materials from a weaving factory such as string, plaster, and wire. She worked obsessively to create a peronal idiom.
