Label Text Entitled Three -Block Tower, this sculpture consists of three sections of a monumental beech tree stacked one on top of the other. The tree grew on a farm neighboring Nash's childhood home. The farmer, on whose land the tree grew, remembered Nash's association with the tree and offered it to the artist when it was damaged during a storm. Three-Block Tower is representative of Nash's body of work, which consists of burned or scarred wooden elements. His sculptures often combine architectural and natural elements to produce forms seemingly of another time. Source: News, October November, December 2002.
