Label TextDona’s painting encompasses various styles of abstraction; her canvas is divided between fields and drips of color and diagram-like mark making. She focuses on the physical qualities of different types of paint, juxtaposing the viscosity of oil with the liquidity of acrylic and enamel. To redirect the flow of paint from vertical to horizontal, she uses an electric fan to blow drips across the surface of the canvas. Her painting explores the theme of opposition and contrast in both its composition and use of materials.
