Wurtz combines found objects into absurd and quirky assemblages that follow in the Dadaist and Surrealist traditions. Twenty-Four Brackets epitomizes the non-heroic nature of his work, while his use of decidedly nontraditional materials references the art of his contemporaries, such as Richard Tuttle, Tim Hawkinson, and Jessica Stockholder.
