Label Text Jim Dine was one of the first artists associated with Happenings and also with the Pop artists and their imagery of ordinary and banal subject matter. His intaglio prints have usually revealed a sensitive, and even delicate, touch which has frequently been in sharp contrast to the blatant directness of his paintings of the 60s. More recently, his still life paintings employed a subtlety of tone and texture. Source: Bulletin, July-August, 1979.
