Frank Roth was born in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1964, he was a summer visiting artist at the University of Iowa.

Characteristic if his individual style, the work "Ever After" uses a combination of geometric, organic and accidental forms for its tense and dynamic effect. The drama is precise, in its contrast of large space against sweeping lines; in stark contrasts of precerious light and dark; and in dominant ruler-sharp masses set against small ragged forms.  Source: Bulletin, May 1967.
